The iron is hand forged into 19 gauge plates, cut / shaped to size, riveted together, hand painted and a breathable cotton lining is added; making it a very comfortable fit. We can also customize the CKM models in size, paint & lace color and we can swap the crest from any of our samurai armor models. Please call or email us for customization options and prices.

The AH models are machine made by the Hanwei Armoury from 22 gauge steel with museum quality detail. The Samurai Helmets, models AH2082, AH20083, AH2088 replicate the helms of the great Daimyo Takeda Shingen, Oda Nobunaga and Date Masamune respectively. Model AH2081 is based on a museum piece of an unknown provenance, doubles as an exquisite stand for a katana and wakizashi set. All four Samurai Helmets are equiped with leather inserts allowing them to be worn.

Custom-designed wooden display stands are included with each of the Japanese Samurai Helmets. If you already own one of our Samurai Helmets or kabuto you can now purchase our menpo and custom-designed wooden display stand or a new maedate (helmet crest) separately. The Tokugawa clan rose to power at the end of the Sengoku period. They served as the Shogun of Japan from 1603 until 1867 and were therefore the longest and most stable of Japan's three bakufu. Their dominance was so strong that some history books use the term "Tokugawa era" instead of "Edo period".
